Welcome to the ATL Edition

The Journey Home Film Festival: ATL Edition is presented by the Morehouse College Human Rights Film Festival, in partnership with the original Journey Home Film Festival in Monrovia, Liberia.

The Journey Home Film Festival: ATL Edition represents the U.S. expansion of the acclaimed Liberian film festival rooted in cultural preservation, creative expression, and meaningful Diaspora connection. Hosted in Atlanta—an international epicenter of Black creativity, storytelling, and innovation—this edition brings together filmmakers, students, scholars, and community members to experience powerful stories that honor home, memory, resilience, and the enduring strength of shared heritage.

Through film, dialogue, and cultural exchange, Journey Home: ATL Edition bridges continents and generations, amplifying voices from Africa and the global Black Diaspora while creating space for reflection, celebration, and connection.

The Journey Home Film Festival: ATL Edition will take place in Atlanta, Georgia (USA) on June 12–13, 2026.

Film submissions open this Friday via FilmFreeway:
